Just beside this fishery is a hump-back bridge which crosses a canal. There are often plenty of seagulls, pigeons and swans hanging around to try their luck getting some scraps from the customers. I remember being with the BHSS (Bradford Hardcore Skate Squad) and a couple of the dafter fellas throwing chips all over the road causing seagulls to descend en mass and car drivers to curse and beep their horns as they are caught unaware by this coming over the hump-back. I also remember taking our Grandparents out for a final holiday on a canal boat, departing from Skipton. My Grandfather nipped off to a nearby pub for a few bottles of stout before we departed. He was a hard labouring man and I remember this was the only time I ever saw him drink.
